STAY FRESH’s 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN: Year Eight, Day Eight

They say fire cleanses. The woods tell a different story.

For Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween, we’re telling the tale of a witch whose magic ran deeper than the roots beneath her feet. They bound her to a tree and set the flames, certain they could burn away what they didn’t understand.

But when the last ember faded, she remained. Bloodied and blackened, watching them through the smoke.

By morning, the village would have a new story to tell. And nobody would be volunteering to strike the next match.
