Every childhood has at least one dare that probably should’ve been left alone.

For Day 16 of 31 Days of Halloween, Breana DeVey takes on Bloody Mary, the infamous urban legend that’s been haunting bathroom mirrors and childhood sleepovers for generations. All it takes is a dark room, a mirror, and enough courage (or poor judgment) to call her name three times.

There’s something wonderfully unsettling about a story that requires so little to scare the hell out of you. No haunted house, no elaborate ritual, just your own reflection and the creeping suspicion that something might be staring back.
