Persephone.
Her myth is the symbol of the Greeks used to describe the changing seasons. When she is with us, all is blossom, and gaiety. When she is far from us, we wither, sleeping or dying in her absence. That death leads to new life. The necrosis of yesteryear is the fertile soil for the seeds of the next. Death becomes life; winter becomes spring.
